Dear IRR News subscriber,
This week Frances Webber reports on news that Capita has been wrongly telling people to leave the UK and we also republish an article (from the Slough Times) on a vigil held in Slough on 27 December to mark the deaths in police custody of Philimore Mills and Habib ‘Paps’ Ullah.
In news from across the UK, a man faces losing the sight in an eye after a serious racist attack in Brighton on New Year’s Day and the mother of Stephen Lawrence has launched a campaign to mark the twentieth anniversary of his death.
And there have been reports of a disturbance at Morton Hall in Lincolnshire following a demonstration about conditions at the centre where at least one detainee suffered head injuries.
