Dear IRR News subscriber,

This week, in news from across the UK, the two men convicted of the murder of Stephen Lawrence in 1993 have been denied permission to appeal by a single judge at the court of appeal. However they will be allowed to renew their applications before a panel of judges. And lawyers reviewing allegations of police corruption in the first investigation in to the murder of Stephen Lawrence have made a further appeal for witnesses.

Over the weekend the family of Kingsley Burrell who died after being restrained by police held a second march through Birmingham to mark the 18-months since his death.

And finally a racist in Cumbria got a little more than he bargained for when his victim, who was out with his heavily pregnant wife, fought back.
