Dear IRR News subscriber,

This week we have articles on a new petition on joint enterprise laws and on new research that has found that black and minority ethnic children are far more likely to be excluded from school.

In news from across the UK, Gary Dobson who was convicted of the racist murder of Stephen Lawrence has dropped his appeal against his conviction. And Dr Richard Stone, an adviser to the judicial inquiry into the murder, has claimed that the Home Office tried to undermine the inquiry.

And G4S is having problems with another contract after it was revealed that it is struggling to fulfil contractual obligations to provide housing for asylum seekers.
