IRR News (12-25 January 2018)

Written by: admin

Dear IRR News subscriber,

This week the IRR’s Sophia Siddiqui examines the recent controversy surrounding a secret eugenics conference held at University College London. We also have our regular calendar of racism and resistance, a fortnightly resource for anti-racist and social justice campaigns.

And just to remind you you still have another month to take advantage of a Sage Publications promotion which allows you to access all 2017 Race & Class articles, view further details here. (This offer has been extended to the end of February.) We have also published our Annual Report 2017, which can be downloaded here (pdf file, 1mb).

Finally we are seeking volunteers at the Institute of Race Relations:

The IRR is looking for several volunteers to assist its work during 2018. If you are interested in applying as a volunteer please read here. In addition to working on IRR News and helping on our ad hoc research projects, we are looking for volunteers to assist on other areas of our work as a small anti-racist educational charity: eg on the website, editing, social media, databases, clerical support, translations, archiving. This is a chance to gain all-round work experience. We do not require a particular academic background from volunteers but welcome those with a commitment to social justice. We also ask that you can commit at least one day each week for a minimum of 3 months. Apply by email with a covering letter and your CV to info@irr.org.uk by 9 February 2018.
