- Saturday 12 November 2011, from 6.45pm
- St Ethelburga’s, 78 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AG
Woven Gold is made up of refugees escaping persecution who have come together in the last four years. With professional UK musicians who donate their time they have created an extraordinary choir and band. Woven Gold’s energy and power are drawn from their harrowing experiences and diversity of musical cultures – Algeria, Burma, Chechnya, Congo, Guinea, Iran, Kenya, Kurdistan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Uganda. The members of Woven Gold are clients of the Helen Bamber Foundation, a human rights charity working with survivors of cruelty, which believes in the therapeutic value of working together creatively to rebuild shattered lives.
